What is copyright?
Copyright is the protection you place on your intellectual property so that others cant use them or claim them as there own. You can go through the legal process, watermark, trademark. It is about gaining permission to use content that isn't you own.
Release and Consent form
A release and consent form is filled out and signed by the person that you wish to gain consent or permission from. The release means they grant you permission to release it to any place you wish. The form would contain the name of myself and the person signing, what the permission is being granted for. Both models and buildings, any private property. Photos of private building can be taken if you are stood on public land.
The general people in public may not want there photo taken even though you may be stood on public property. If you are a danger to the public. Use of telephoto lens is not allowed in public because it is possible that you could be taking photos of people and things you shouldn't be. Be careful of taking photos of companies and adverts in public, as you could miss represent them.
Legal and Ethical
We need to be conscious of representations when taking pictures as we could get sued for miss representation of companies, people, religion, ethnicities, disability, (sued for deprecation of charater) also following guilines of copyright and then being cautious of appearing shady.
