LO4 Editing my depth of field shot
LO5 Final pieces
The aim for this picture was to positivly show the history and farming of the area. Although the final outcome may not denote the history it certainly connotes the farming and peacefulness of Derbyshire. This picture also dennotes the natural isolation and exploration that Derbyshire has to offer. This photo has the extra added feature of a warm hue, this connotes the warmth of the countryside. The glow around the subject of the barn connotes exploration as it emphasises the barn and makes it seem more intriguing.
I have named this photograph 'Splendid Isolation' as the photo connotes isolation and to my target audience of city people this isolation could be a good thing.
All my pictures will be displayed like the pattern of a five on a dice. This picture would be displayed on the top left hand side of my display. I will frame this in a A3 traditional oak wooden frame, this is because oak is a wood that can be found in this area of Derbyshire and this fits with my theme. This frames is £24.35 at http://www.eframe.co.uk/custom-frames/view?nrq=1&h=420&ref=MLDA171&w=297. No mounting as this massively increases the size of the frame which does not conform with my idea of a natural border around my photos. The photograph will be printed on in A3 format on Hahnemühle German Etching art card as this would give my photos a matte look and finish. The price for this is £10.00 at https://www.theprintspace.co.uk/PhotographicPrintPrices.
Passing by.
The aim for this picture was to show the freedom and nature of the area. I believe I achieved this with this photograph as the photo clearly denotes a bird in flight but also connotes the freedom and how the bird is doing as it wishes.
I have named this photo 'Passing by' as it connotes that the bird it flying freely through the area and doing what it pleases.
In my dice like pattern this photo would be displayed on the bottom left hand side of my display, below the Splendid Isolation shot. This will be framed in a A3 traditional oak wooden frame. This can be found for £24.35 at http://www.eframe.co.uk/custom-frames/view?nrq=1&h=420&ref=MLDA171&w=297. No mounting. The photograph will be printed on in A3 format on Hahnemühle German Etching art card as this would give my photos a matte look and finish. The price for this is £10.00 at https://www.theprintspace.co.uk/PhotographicPrintPrices.
A Doorway to Another Place.
The aim for this picture was to show mystery and exploration. I believe I acheived this aim as the photo certainly connotes mystery and intrigue. The image also connotes exploration as it feels as though the area is unexplored.
I have named this photograph 'A doorway to Another Place' as it connotes the idea of the trees framing the scene making a window or doorway to another place, which may intrigue the audience.
In my pattern this photo would be displayed top right of my display, above the Unseen Possibility shot. This will be framed in a A3 traditional oak wooden frame, this frame is £24.35 at http://www.eframe.co.uk/custom-frames/view?nrq=1&h=420&ref=MLDA171&w=297. No mounting. The photograph will be printed on in A3 format on Hahnemühle German Etching art card as this would give my photo a matte finish. The price for this is £10.00 at https://www.theprintspace.co.uk/PhotographicPrintPrices.
Unseen possability.
The objective for this photograph was to show adventure through the photo. I beleive I completed this as the photo really connotes adventure in a way that makes you want to explore the scene of the photo. I also beleive that this photo dennotes realism in the way it was taken using an eyeline angle.
I have named this photo 'Unseen Possibility' as this title denotes adventure which is what I am trying to suggest with my photograph.
This photo would be displayed on the bottom right hand side of my display pattern, below the Doorway to Another Place shot. This will be framed in a A3 traditional oak wooden frame, this frame is £24.35 at http://www.eframe.co.uk/custom-frames/view?nrq=1&h=420&ref=MLDA171&w=297. No mounting. The aim for this photograph was to show an extreme close up on a lady bird and connote beauty through this. The photo didn't come out as expected however I think that this photo is much more interesting than the shot that I had aimed for. This is because I think that the way the ladybird is positioned in the photo gives emphasis to its colours which connote beauty.
I have named this photo 'Native Landscape' as the lady bird is a native species of the area and it looks as if it has its own landscape which connote peace.
This photo would be displayed in the center of my display pattern making this the center piece of my display, this is because I think that the connotation of beauty for this photograph is the main connotation I wish to convey. This will be framed in a A3 traditional oak wooden frame just like the other photos, this frame is £24.35 at http://www.eframe.co.uk/custom-frames/view?nrq=1&h=420&ref=MLDA171&w=297. No mounting as it would overpower the other images. The photograph will be printed on in A3 format on Hahnemühle German Etching art card as this would give my photos a matte look and help the colours in the photo really stand out. The price for this is £10.00 at https://www.theprintspace.co.uk/PhotographicPrintPrices.

LO4 edit of depth of field shot
LO4 editing write up
The first of my edited images is my shallow depth of field shot. I edited this shot using an iris blur and a soft glow. This created a shot with a shallow depth of field and a soft glow around the subject. This editing enhanced the meaning as it gave the photograph the shallow depth of field I was looking for, this shallow depth of field improves the meaning by making the subject more noticeable and therefore making the history of the area seem more interesting. The soft glow I added to the image enhanced the meaning as now it gives the barn a more mysterious feeling which adds to the previous idea that it needs exploring. I also added warmth hue to my photo to make it warmer. This enhances the meaning by making the photo feel warmer and more inviting to the audience. The second image I edited is my fast shutter speed shot. I edited this by using the cropping tool to reduce the size of the background which in turn made the bird larger on image. This helped enhance the meaning as now it makes it feels as though you are experiencing the same freedom as the bird but just by looking at the photograph. This cropping also helped increase the amount of detail that you can see of the bird.
These enhanced meaning help my theme as my aim was to produce photos that gave a positive representation of Derbyshire.

LO4 Editing of the shutter speed shot
This video shows the process I went through when editing my shutter speed photograph. I used the crop tool in Photoshop to crop the photograph making it smaller and therefore making the subject bigger. I believe this enhanced the meaning as now the audience can see the bird in greater detail than before thus making it more intriguing. Another way it has enhanced the meaning is by making the bird seem more isolated and free. This add to my previous connotations as these were what I am aiming for with my photograph.
